Zephyr’s run a number of therapeutic support sessions for bereaved parents and families in Nottinghamshire. We currently send out an email once a month detailing the upcoming support sessions we have available. If you would like to be included in these updates, please fill out our support form here:

Zephyr’s In the Evening

A monthly get-together for bereaved parents and family members who have experienced the death of a baby or child. Gathering together in the evening – in a small group and with a warm drink in hand – we gently encourage connection with others who have experienced loss and understand. Talking and conversation is never pressured, but you will be welcomed to share in a safe and supportive environment.

7.30pm – 9.30pm, first Thursday of every month at By Our Hands, Unit 42 Freckingham St, NG1 1DQ

Hope Group – Pregnancy after loss
A group for those who are trying to conceive, or are pregnant after loss. These monthly sessions are here to welcome you into a supportive and understanding group, led by Zephyr’s volunteers Louise and Natalie and joined by visiting practitioners who offer nurturing and supportive antenatal activities and care.

7pm – 9pm, last Tuesday of every month at Sherwood Community Centre, NG5 3FN.

Zephyr’s Counselling Service
Our counselling service is for bereaved parents, grandparents and older siblings who’s lives have been touched by pregnancy loss, the death of a baby, or the death of a child. Held in our warm and welcoming therapy room at Sherwood Community Centre, we offer up to 12 sessions with one of our experienced counsellors. Suitable for both couples and individuals

Clay & Connection
Focusing on creativity and working with clay, this therapeutic activity supports bereaved parents touched by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby or child. It is a small and supportive group environment, and attendees do not need any previous experience of working with clay. 

7pm – 9.30pm, third Tuesday of every month at By Our Hands, Unit 42 Freckingham St, NG1 1DQ

Woodworking for Bereaved Dads
Zephyr’s Dad Martin opens up his workshop for bereaved dads to come and learn woodworking in a creative and supportive space. These evening meet-ups are for small groups, and those attending will learn new skills and make beautiful and useful items. The workshop is a safe and gentle space where sharing conversation and loss experiences are welcomed.

Into the Woods – Forest School with Boots and Brambles
“Into the Woods” welcomes bereaved siblings, young family members and adults to our monthly session in nature. Open to families who have lost a baby or child, these sessions offer family members of all ages a chance to connect with nature and each other, and to explore a beautiful woodland space. During each session there are crafts using natural materials, various woodland activities, and hot drinks and snacks around our warming campfire.

Wellbeing Walks with Green Space Counselling
Zephyr’s Wellbeing Walks are a chance for you to take a gentle stroll together with others who understand a loss experience – to find support and comfort in nature and in the changing seasons. Led by Alison Broughton (Green Space Counselling) or Richard Arkwright (Environmental Arts Therapist) these 2 hour walks are set at a gentle pace, providing the opportunity for quiet reflection and sharing.

Yoga for bereaved mums
Our yoga offering provides a calming and meditative opportunity to relax and connect with yourself and others. Led by Hannah and Isabel at their beautiful yoga studios, these sessions are a chance to take a moment of self care, and come together with others. We have recently introduced a new offering with Isabel at Luna Shala in Ilkeston, which will alternate with Hannah’s sessions. Restorative yoga, some tasty snacks, and a chance to chat, share and reflect.

Support for Healthcare Staff
Zephyr’s provides support, training and resources for healthcare professionals working within family bereavement services in Nottinghamshire. We provide meetings every 2 months to update on our activity, as well as training sessions and an open door approach sharing experiences and conversations.
